Your role

As Claims Handler, you are part of the Claims department. You belong to one of the ⚠ teams responsible for the correct daily management of the claims files. In the Claims department, "Customer Care" is our top priority. We help our customers who need care and in difficult times they can count on our support in the execution of their insurance contract.

  • You accurately analyse the submitted documents according to the insurance terms and conditions and you accept or not the claim according to the underwritten plan (Hospi, Smile, Daily, ...).
  • You document your decision and inform the insured and/or the intermediary in an efficient, customer-friendly, and correct way.
  • You follow up files for which additional info is required.
  • You guide the insured during the course of the file, you look for solutions to his/her problem and you motivate the decision.
  • You actively participate in the definition of daily priorities in line with the objectives and you implement them. You make proposals to optimise systems and processes.


Your profile

  • You have a bachelor's degree in insurance or equivalent.
  • Experience within an operational department in the banking or insurance sector is an asset but not a must.
  • You have strong language skills Dutch & French.
  • You communicate fluently, both orally and in writing, you ask the right questions, you listen and you take your own decisions, whether or not in consultation with the experts within the department.
  • You work independently but are also a team player. You are open to feedback and spontaneously help your colleagues by making your knowledge available.
  • You are positive and constructive, you embrace change.
  • You master the MS Office package.
  • You embody DKV's corporate competencies: customer orientation, result orientation, integrity, and organisational commitment.
